What is coming post COVID-19?

I know we haven’t seen an actual silver lining of this global pandemic and above nuclear level of impact to the global economy, while I do think it’s important to start thinking and preparing for the world post COVID-19.

First, let’s have a look of where is the world now fighting and suffering with this invisible enemy now.

Here is what I think will happen post COVID-19 under control(means at least an highly effective drug(or combination of some drugs) will be identified.)

  1. PPE(Personal Protection Equipments), Ventilator manufacturing
Every major country will start forcing a high level of self-supply capability of PPE and Ventilator manufacturing domestically thru legislation.
  2. Overseas traveling needs will stay low for quite a long time(more than one year) — this really because of the deeply rooted fear takes long time to go away.
  3. RV will boom esp. in US for domestic travel since it is lot “safer” than staying in a hotel.
  4. Consumption of hand sanitization products will never go back, people in rich countries like US, West Europe, Japan will keep using it a lot as an effective way to protect themselves.
  5. Tesla’s stock price will go above $1000/share. Zoom’s will go down below $100/share.
  6. There will be a technological breakthrough on fast and accurate testing for future coronaviruses.
  7. All major economies will pay the price thru a significant inflation (since all the major central banks are printing money as so-called Quantitive Easing in an unprecedented speed and no limits!)
  8. Unemployment will stay at doubled level (comparing from pre-COVID19)in most major economies for a long time.
  9. A roll-back of globalization in some industries for national security — eg. Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) as the part of any drug that produces the intended effects.
  10. Lots of films about COVID19 will be produced in many countries, and one by Hollywood will win the Oscar award in 2021.

Again, these are all based on my own limited view and thinking about this crazy time, really hope this nightmare awake as soon as possible.

One thing I am very sure — COVID19 is changing this world in a significant way and it’s irreversible.
